Facebook made live streaming available to everyone

The giant social network, Facebook has added the ability to stream live video directly from your Newsfeed. Live streaming feature was previously available only to user owing a verified account, But now it’s made available to everyone to stream live video.

Although the live streaming video feature is now available to only Facebook iPhone app.

How to go Live?

To start a live stream video:

  1. Tap  from your News Feed or Timeline on the Facebook iPhone app
  2. Tap 
  3. Write an optional description for your broadcast
  4. Tap Go Live to begin your broadcast
  5. Tap Finish to end your live broadcast

They have also added live stream of comments by users who are watching you live. If you don’t want some one in the comments and want to block it? You can! Simply by tapping the profile picture next to a viewer’s comment and then tapping Block. And same for unblocking them.

You can go live for no longer than 30 minutes. And when you are done with live stream, it’ll be saved on your Timeline like any other video.

Adding such features shows Facebook wants to attract all those users who use other platforms like Periscope and Meerkat.
